Costa Rica News – Teenagers involved in prostituting schoolgirls received up to ¢175,000.
Four girls between the ages of 16 and 17 were captured for this crime of trafficking persons. Three adult men were also apprehended.
The women were taken in on Wednesday morning from the house where they lived in Hatillo, San José. The men responsible were from Desamparados, Hatillo and Tejar del Guarco.
The crimes began in the beginning of this year. The schoolgirls were transported to the places where the meetings took place by one of the adults arrested and the other two paid to have sexual relations with these victims.
The men are professionals. One of them has a record for aggravated robbery and illegal possession of a weapon.
Authorities believe there may be more victims. Anyone affected should go to a branch of the Judicial Investigation Agency or call 800-8000-645.
